RFA Fort George A388 was built by Swan Hunter and entered service in 1994. The ship is 204 metres long, has a beam of 30 metres and displaces 36,580 tonnes. It is powered by two Crossley-Pielstick diesel engines which give the ship a maximum speed of 21 knots.
